Holden to export its Commodore Ute to the States

G8 Sport Ute

It’s awesome to hear that Holden is doing so well in exporting its products worldwide in an era where local car manufactures are closing their doors and reducing production. Following the recent release of the Pontiac G8 (a rebadged Holden Commodore) in the American market to much customer and critical acclaim, Holden have announced that they will be exporting the Commodore Ute as a Pontiac during the second half of 2009. At the moment the Pontiac “Ute” is currently been given the temporary name “G8 Sports Truck” and is asking the public to help name the truck right now. I think the Ute will be very interesting to watch as it’ll be the first of its kind in the American car market, and it successful I wonder if other American car manufacturers will build their own version to compete with the new found niche – smaller trucks that is.

If you want to help Pontiac, have a chance to win your own Pontiac “G8 Sports Truck” or simply have the chance to claim “you named the new Pontiac Truck” go here.
